Series Perspective on Light

A series of eight images taken at the Rheinkniebrücke (right bank of the Rhine).
Series launch: December 2025
Series status: completed

In December, with the low sun, I discovered at the Rheinknie Bridge in Düsseldorf the special lighting conditions that inspired my series “Perspective on Light.” The bridge ramp, illuminated from below, showed strong contrasts and a distinctive concrete texture that motivated me to photograph.

The eight black-and-white images reduce the urban scene to its basic elements: silhouettes of railings, horizontally running cables, concrete textures, and rhythmic diagonals. The black-and-white format emphasizes tonal values, textures, and spatial depth, transforming familiar infrastructure into abstracted architecture. The series invites viewers to rediscover the city as a structure of light surfaces, shadow edges, and layered perspectives.
