As a photographer, I currently work primarily in black and white because it allows me to deliberately shape light, shadow, and textures and to enhance the emotional impact of my subjects. Black and white photography reduces the image to its essential forms and creates a timeless, intense atmosphere. It is often regarded as the more authentic and intellectual form of photography, as it has significantly shaped the development of the medium.
For me, color and black and white are equally important stylistic tools that I consciously use to create my work. They are just as essential as composition, light, shadow, and texture—and absolutely equal in value.
The color works shown here open up different expressive possibilities and complement my black and white work. That is why I present them on this page.
